Statement
Working primarily in drawing, painting, and printmaking, my practice is rooted in tying together incomplete narratives. As a queer person, I consider my imagination as a necessary bridge to better comprehend lost archives and concealed histories. My process begins by sifting through historical ephemera, such as magazine clippings, family photographs, or imagery from classic cinema. From these secondhand fragments and by reflecting on my own experiences, my work uses a restricted palette to reflect this limited archival record and knowledge of those who came before me.
Encircled in longing, grief, dreaming, and desire, my practice seeks to honour queer pasts in order to inform joyful futures.
